I entered my FIRST Half Ironman Triathlon on April 1, 2012, in Galveston in honor of my Uncle David, who was diagnosed with cancer, in 2009. It was my first event with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Now I'm at it again. It is my mission to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that, I’m participating this time in the Nike Women's Marathon, October 14th, 2012 in San Francisco as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training (TNT).

Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well. I can not tell you what a difference this has made in my happiness and outlook on life. I really feel I'm making a difference, both for myself and others. The support you provide is invested wisely. Many of the blood cancer treatments Leukemia and Lymphoma Society funded have gone on to benefit patients who have other types of cancer. Help me complete this goal of mine and raise money for cancer cures and cancer medicine.
