Welcome to my Team In Training home page.


I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in the 2013 Chicago marathon as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.


As you all know, and welcome those of you who are new to the group, I participated in my first marathon in 1997, Chicago, as a member of Team in Training. As this was my first marathon I decided to let my oldest son be my "SAG" wagon and join me on the trip, not the run! Sean was 14 years-old and mature enough to appreciate the daunting task his mother was undertaking. The race went well and I finished strong, strong enough to continue marathon running, frequently raising money for Team in Training.


The 2010 Chicago marathon was poignant as I ran, this time in honor of my Honored Hero, my oldest son. Who could possibly have imagined in 1997 that I would one day run for someone so close and so very dear to me. Now here we are 3 years later and Sean is in remission and he and his amazing wife, Soraya, are expecting their first child. Pay it forward is my mantra now!
