Racing for a Reason!


Okay! It is getting closer and closer as we speak!! The Nike Women's Marathon is almost a month away, and I am getting so excited! I have learned so much along the way in terms of my abilities and the abilities of others to share in this adventure! All of the support has been amazing, and it is much appreciated!


Please continue to help me on my journey. I'm no longer running for myself. Read ahead in case you are not quite sure why I joined this organization in hopes to help them fight cancer...


As most of you know, and some of you may not know, I love to run!!! I have completed two full marathons since 2007, and I am ready to do it again! You also may know that I have a passion for fundraising especially for a great cause in order to help, and ultimately save, lives.


Instead of just going out and running for myself I have decided this time to do it for others as well.


I'm training to participate in The 2009 Nike Women's Marathon in San Fransico as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. I would especially like to honor Lisa Regnier Day, who's life was taken by Leukemia on May 24, 2006. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
