What can I say, I'm back at it again. I honestly didn't think that I would do another event this year, but the draw of the new event in Moab, all the amazing people involved with Team in Training, and of course all the Heroes that are fighting all types of blood cancers was too much to say no to.

I'm excited about the new challenges and changes this season will present. In short, I'm rolling from Solvang, California to Moab, Utah; from wine country to desert vistas; from a climb called the "Wall" to a climb called "The Big Nasty." The biggest difference for me this time around is the difference in winter training to summer training. I have a new ride to take me up the climbs and down the descents. With all these changes, one things remains the same... Team in Training's main focus of advancing research to fight blood cancers and supporting the families dealing with these diseases.

We focus on this main goal by riding one mile at a time, raising one dollar at time, raising more awareness one person at a time, helping others one person at a time. To me this is about looking beyond just our own immediate narrow scope of concern to see the grand scope of good that can be done by giving a little bit of time, sweat, and focus. I never imagined the impact that Team in Training would have on me personally. Prior to signing up initially, I had zero connection to blood cancers. Now after being involved for 2 years, I know people that have first had experience on how these diseases affect the family and friends.

In Solvang this past March there was a 10 year old boy (Honored Hero) wih a shirt that simply read, "Somebody is training for me." That really struck home with me. We all one day may need somebody to train for us one day, so pay it forward. I plan to as much as I can. You can help me help others one mile at a time.
