MY DAD IS A HUMAN GUINEA PIG AND WE NEED YOUR HELP!

After a nice four-year remission, the medication which had been treating my dad's chronic lymphocytic leukemia stopped working for him.  So now it is time to see if we can find something else that will be effective.  He has now been battling CLL for fourteen years, going through a variety of different treatments as they became available.  But his disease is a sneaky one and it always finds a way to return.  That is why it is so critical to continue the research to find new treatments and, hopefully soon, a cure. 

 

Today (June 8th) my dad started a new clinical trial for a drug called venetoclax.  We're hopeful that this will work for him.  If not, his only remaining option may be a bone marrow transplant, something that he has always hoped to avoid.

 

This will be my eighth season with Team in Training.  With your help I have raised well over $10,000 dollars for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (and met so many amazing people along the way).  By participating as a member of TNT, I am raising funds to help find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients.
