Racing to Save Lives
Hey folks! I'm back at it again - fundraising , training and fighting cancer for those who cannot.
This season I am training for a Half Ironman and am also participating as a TEAM Mentor. A Half Iron distance is a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride and 13 mile run. I'll be completing this event on April 25, 2010 in Galveston, TX. I am extremely excited about this season as I shift gears and train for a multi-sport event. The training will certainly be challenging, but the cause is well worth it!
I'll be doing this event in memory of Bob Conkling, a family member who recently lost his battle to blood cancer. As part of my fundraising and training efforts, it has become my mission to raise awareness of the need for a cure and support of those battling the disease.
Cancer is something that could happen to any of us. In some way we have all been touched by the disease. We must do our part to help out those in need. Funds raised through this website not only go to vital research, but also to patient services programs that help those currently fighting cancer. These brave individuals are our mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. They need our help. Please support them by making a donation today!
