Racing to Save Lives
Chris and I have once again decided to join the Team in Training organization. This time we won't be treking on a bike in Arizona, this time we will running a marathon on April 5, at the Big D Marathon in Dallas, TX! The feeling of accomplishment personally and civically was one of the greatest things we have ever done. It was great knowing that we had made a difference in so many peoples lives.
The most I have ever run is a 5K (3 miles). The picture to your right is from Saturday morning, November 8. Our first training session. We ran 2 miles. Every week will be adding on time to eventually achieve the goal of 26.2.
This event holds a dear place in our hearts. Chris has a close friend from high school that was diagnosed with Leukemia years ago and is now in remission. Without our efforts and many others, this could not be possible. Please join us in our excitement to make a difference and donate. Whatever amount you can do will be greatly appreciated.
Chris and I are determined to cross the finish line. For it is not the race that is hard, it is the battle of cancer they must endure.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
