Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to participate in an endurance event

as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In

Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help

stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking

more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals

who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on

our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish

line - a cure!

I will be running the Alaska Marathon in Anchorage on June 20th.

HELP me reach my goal no matter how small..

Look for me in Facebook Jr Ramos...and thanks for taking the time to stop by!!

Sorry for the long delay, but life kinda keeps you busy. My facebook buds even commeted just to check up on me. Well one thing is that I still kept up my training. I ran 13-14 miles this last staturday. Luckly I skipped happy your the night before or it would have been less.

As for last weekend, I did hills and only 9 miles. Kinda felt under the weather. I did get to work the Big D marathon at the 16 mile marker. I was amazed at the runners from all ages still chuggin along at the 16 mile mark.

Well, have fun, and keep on living,

JR

Not much running outside due to the rain..but hopefully we will see the light at 7am this saturday...

Thanks all for reading...

2/27/09 COWTOWN..

Just off the press. JR ran the Cowtown 10K today. JR actually

got up early enough to brave the cold wind chills of 32F but all

for a good cause. It weird getting up before the sun comes up on

Saturday, almost unnatrual till I drive into the traffic going int

Fr Worth. Wow, what a site. I good group for the 10K and enough to

get you motivated to run in the cold.

At the start, it was great to pass and get pass in the first

part of the race. What was great was about the third mile when you

felt the sun in your face, wind at your back, and one of those

songs on my mp3 player that makes you realize that sometimes its

the journey of the race and not always the finish which we should

cherish about these events. What a great run and finished in about

49 minutes.

2/22/09

Great to see the TNT bunch at the lake but our run ran into an

unexpected police yellow crime ribbom blocking our way. Lets just

say I did not stick around to see.

Well lets just say I freeeked out watching the news when I got

home!! They found something in the lake....

2/17/2009

Slow going for my fundraiser but looking for good

ideas with my great teammates and mentor.

I am running regularly usually seven miles. We

had our first meeting at Lake last saturday and was amazed of

all the traffic at 6:45 am on Saturday morning. OMG, I did not know

anyone got up that early on a Saturday. A whole city and even a

traffic jam getting in and out of the lake..all before noon!!

Afterwards, we had a HEROS breakfast and had a chance to meeet

the real heros.. The ones that have fought and are fighting the

fight. We and I sometimes need to see what the real fight is, and

ussally our fight within ourselves seem small compared to the fight

they fight.

Thanks again for reading....JR

"Good Luck in your run. I have done marathons and I know all the work that goes into training. When you hit your wall just think of all your friends or even strangers that you are running this race in. You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them. -Michael Jordan "
