Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers, and in honor of my Mom, Karen Hollon. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

My mom was diagnosed with CML April 8, 2008. Ironically it was the same day she closed on the first home she ever purchased on her own. She is almost in full remission, but will need to continue on her medications for the rest of her life. She is not currently a good candidate for a bone marrow transplant, but should it come to that, I know she can make it through. I am participating in this marathon in honor of my mom and her strength and courage through such a difficult time in her life. She is my Honored Hero through TNT and my personal hero in life. My mom is my rock and has helped me through so many difficult times in my own life, the best way I know how to repay her is through my love and support and joining forces with Team in Training.

I will be updating my progress in training and fundraising through my facebook page and also through my blog.

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. Any amount will do, as it all goes to a fantastic cause.

Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your

support!

"I am a TnT Honored Hero and wanna be cyclist who stumbled across this page from your Facebook link. When you run, please think about my friend Tammy who died from stage 4b Hodgkin's Lymphoma in the mid-90's, the same diagnosis I survived. The difference ten years of blood cancer research made in the treatments is why I am alive today. I really appreciate what you do."
