Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in a the Greater Cleveland Triathlon on August 3rd, 2014, as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.

I'm training, racing and fundraising in honor of my late Uncle, Raymond "Doug" Wells. My uncle was diagnosed with with MDS (myelodysplastic syndrome). His diagnosis was for the variation RAEB-II (refractory anemia with excess blasts). We said goodbye to him on Monday, August 12th, 2013. My uncle was larger than life, a man who prided himself on building things with his own two hands, wasn't afraid to use duct tape as a band-aid and worked tirelessly to take care of those that he loved. He was equal parts hardy and gentle, loved babies and animals, both of which seemed to enjoy his company as much as he enjoyed theirs. Nicknamed "Superman," he was a hero to many in our family. Now, it's my turn to be a hero for the many others who suffer from blood disorders.  Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
