Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training of Northern New Jersey. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. Some of thse people are in my own family. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
I will be running the Marine Corp Marathon on October 26th 2008 in Washington DC and celebrate 20 years cancer free and turning 50. I had testicular cancer when I was 29 years old which spread one year later to the lymph gland which wound up being a level 4. I went through surgery, radiation and chemo therapy losing 30 pounds at that time and all my body hair. This had a toll on my body, mind and spirit at the time and 20 years later I know it is time to give back to celebrate my 20 years of living cancer free.
