Tune into WPST 94.5 Sunday morning (march 11) to hear more about Team in Training and hear Pete share is amazing story!!!!! (thank you Toni for making this possible!!)
Teams are made up of individuals. Without them, there is no team.
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I'm almost at my minimum, lets see if we can double it!! :o)
** I cant thank everyone enough for all the support and generous donations!! It really fills my heart with so much joy to be able to do this!!
As some of you may know over the past year I have started to run. What started off as something I was doing to help with my weight watchers goals has spiraled into an addiction to the sport. Last year my goal was to run one 5k race, just 3.1 miles... Well that goal turned into so much more. Last year I ran 8 5ks , 2 mud runs and 1 half marathon! My goals for this year have since grown in numbers!! I would like to complete 27 races this year, including half marathons, the long beach island 18 miler and perhaps even the tough mudder.
Now why am I writing you to tell you this? Well on may 6th I will be running my second half marathon with an organization called team in training.
I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in a sports endurance event as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
So now your probably asking why did I choose this organization. Well for starters anything to do with cancer is a reason. I want to help find a cure in anyway possible and what better way then this!! I'm also dedicating this run to some incredible people, in honor of Pete McLaughlin and in memory of Jean Machamer.
Now I don't want you to in anyway feel obligated to donate. I know that times are tough for everyone. But please help spread the word!! A dollar donation adds up :)
If you want to come cheer me on my half marathon is on may 6th in long branch new jersey!!
Go team!!
Katie Len
