On behalf of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, thank you very much for your support. I greatly appreciate your generosity.
P.S. I would appreciate it if you would forward this link to as many people as you can to encourage them to donate as well. In addition, if I can run in honor or memory of someone please let me know. If you donate $50 or more, I will write the name of your loved one on my racing singlet!
Thanks again!

In Memory Of My Uncle Frank
Feb 05, 2013 by Jennifer Schwartz
-
It is with a heavy heart that I inform my supporters that I have edited my training/race focus to not only run in honor of the many patients I take care of, but now in memory of my uncle Frank who lost a year long battle with cancer this past weekend. Even though he is not with us anymore, his strength is an ongoing inspiration for me. His courage and fight during his disease makes my journey even more important, and I can't wait to make him and my family proud!
I run because I can, I run because I am making a difference, and I run because if even one advancement is made through my support, then it is all worthwhile.

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
Teams are made up of individuals. Without them, there is no team.
"Once you choose hope, anything's possible." - Christopher Reeve
As a pediatric oncology RN, I have seen first hand what cancer can do to both my patients and their families. As a member of a family affected by cancer, I have experienced the personal journey of diagnosis, treatment, remission, relapse, and loss. As a woman, I want to live healthy and be a role model for my future children. With continued support, we can hope to make these diseases a thing of the past, as well as improve the quality of life of those who are living and fighting everyday with these diseases. I am thankful to have a job that gives so much meaning to my life, proud to have such a strong family, and hopeful that I can make a difference no matter how big or small.

It seems I have found a way to combine both achieving a great personal goal and supporting a great cause. I have a mission---to help support research to find cures and more effective treatments for different cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in the Nike Women's Half Marathon (my first marathon ever! 13.1 miles, yikes!) in Washington D.C. as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help support research in finding cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
Come back often, as I will be updating throughout training and come
watch me in D.C.!!!
:) THANKS FOR YOUR HELP <3
