Training for the Cure
Hello friends, family, aquatints, co-workers, and everyone in between!
Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to visit my fundraising page.
I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. There are multiple events to compete in and I chose the Nation's triathlon in Washington D.C. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. More specifically I am doing this event in honor of my friend's father who is currently in remission from NHL. I witnessed the intense grief that overstruck their entire family, and I would hate to see anyone ever go through that again. That is the main reason why I am participating in this event. These people are the real heroes, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Any amount of money that you choose to donate will be greatly appreciated and will help out the cause. In order for me to compete in the race I have to raise $2,900 before September 12, 2010. My personal goal is to raise a challenging $3,600. As an added bonus if you donate $50.00 or more to the cause I will send a complementary silicon wrist band to you in the mail recognizing your generous donation.
The only way that I can get there is with help from all of you, so please donate. Even if you decide you do not have enough money to donate, at least visit the Team in Training website for more information: http://www.teamintraining.org/
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
