Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my fundraising page!

I am thrilled to be training for my second marathon with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! I will be running in the Adidas Dublin Marathon on October 25, 2010. (Yes this race is in Dublin, Ireland!!!).

I am making this commitment for two reasons. First and foremost in honor of my family and friends that have been personally touched by Leukemia. Second, I want to set a personal record for my second marathon. (This probably won't be that difficult since the first try took me 5 hours!)

Two very special people in my life, David Allgor and Lee Ann Thompson, were diagnosed with Leukemia, but thankfully both are in remission. I am dedicating my training and the 26.2 mile run to them and the thousands of others that fight everyday to win their battle with cancer.

Last year I completed the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington DC and rose over $4,000. This year I will travel across the ocean to complete the 26.2 miles and with a little luck of the Irish (and some blood, sweat, tears and a couple beers so I have heard) will raise over $5,000 for this worthy cause.
