Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team in Training home page.
I'm training to participate in the Lincoln Half-Marathon May 2 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. With each step I take on that route May 2, I'll have another very special person on my mind: my father-in-law Paul Lee.
Paul died on January 21, 2009, of leukemia. We were with him as he took his final breaths and crossed the finish line of this life. He fought the good fight; he ran the race. And he inspires us still today.
And now, I'm running for him and for others who are still fighting this disease.
Would you consider joining me as I honor those who battle blood cancers? Would you consider making a donation to support our efforts through Team in Training?
This will be my first attempt at a long endurance run, but I intend to finish the race in honor of those who've fought much harder battles with cancer. Those people are the real heroes, and together, we need your support to find a cure!
