WELCOME TO Leilani's TEAM IN TRAINING (TNT) HOME PAGE!

I'm Leilani - mother of three, Girl Scout troop leader, and an avid runner.  On my bucket list, I told myself that on my 40th birthday next year, I will enter the Walt Disney World Dopey Challenge.  It's a four-day event, and I'll be running different distances every day, from a 5K to a full 26.2 miles.  During my last marathon, I ran with a really nice guy who happened to be running for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society .  As we ran, he told me all about blood cancer and why he was supporting them.  I learned that blood cancer strikes even the youngest kids, and that just broke my heart.  Why does it happen to the youngest and the most innocent of people?  It's not fair!  One of my closest friends was diagnosed with cancer this past year, and this guy's story was the last straw.  I had to do something.  He saw my tears, and he told me to run for the LLS during the 2018 Dopey Challenge.  

So... for my 40th birthday, my only wish is to raise  $4900 (and maybe a bit more) to help fund a cure for blood cancer while I train for the 2018 Dopey Challenge.  Please help me raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society so cancer patients can afford treatment.  AND... if I reach my goal...  I WILL SHAVE MY HEAD AND POST THE PICTURE WHEN I RUN THE RACES in 2018!!!  Another way to help blood cancer is to donate bone marrow.  To find out if you're a good candidate, check Be the Match !  I'm going to do this, too.
