I’ve taken on an incredible challenge. On January 7, 2012, I will be participating in

Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training (TNT) program. TNT is the world’s first, best and largest charity sports training program. Over the next 5 months I will be raising money to fund the mission of The LLS: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. I have committed myself to Run/Walk 13.1 miles and have agreed to raise a minimum of $2000.00 to help in the fight against blood cancers.

As I train for and participate in this event, I’ll be doing it in MEMORY of my close friend’s son, Anthony Titus. Anthony was diagnosed with Leukemia on April 29, 2011 at 15 years old. In a matter of 6 short days we had to say good bye to Anthony as his battle with cancer had ended. Anthony was an amazing boy with a heart of gold. His dedication to the things he loved showed in everything that he did. Whether it was the sports he loved, his favorite football teams, his family and friends, or his dedication to the Lord, Anthony was truly dedicated to everything that he loved. Although I find that the commitment that I am about to conquer is a challenge indeed I know that it is nothing compared to losing a child. I decided that if in completing this challenge I could somehow spare another person from losing someone to cancer it would be worth all of the hard work. The dedication that Anthony once had will be my anchor as I take on this personal challenge.

I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in a sports endurance event as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
