Leukemia to the Finish Line!

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to participate in the Walt Disney World Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us in Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

This is a brief summary of my history with Leukemia and Team in Training:

• 08/2001 Diagnosed with APL with DIC (less than 2% chance of living)
• 10/2004 Completed the Nike Marathon with Team in Training
• 10/2004 Relapsed with APL
• 06/2005 Completed the Philly Triathlon Relay with Team in Training (Team picture on above)
• 07/2006 Relapsed with APL
• 11/2006 Bone Marrow Transplant (Case Study)
• 10/2007 Completed the Dublin Marathon with Team in Training

I participate and fund raise to help find a cure for blood related cancers. The thought of children undergoing the procedures I had to endure while fighting my Leukemia helps motivate me to finish my training and 26.2 mile ~ a walk in the park compared to Chemo.

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. At least 75% of all funds raised by Team in Training going to research and family support. All funds raised over my $3500.00 minimum go 100% to the cause.

With lots of help from family, friends and people I haven't had the pleasure to meet I was able to double my fund raising for both the Nike Marathon and the Dublin Marathon. I know we can do it again.

People can get leukemia at any age. In 2008, about and 44,270 adults and 4,220 children are expected to develop leukemia.
