I'm completing a marathon and need your help...
Yes, you read that right...I'm completing a marathon!!
And yes, I know that's 26.2 miles...
I am training to participate in the San Diego Rock-n-Roll Marathon on June 6th as a member of LLS Eastern North Carolina TNT Team. As a member of this Team, I am also raising funds to help find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma and other blood cancers.
I am training and completing this event in honor of my dear friend Trina. Trina was diagnosed with leukemia just after the birth of her second child. She is 39 years old and an amazing mother of two - Emma, 7 years old and Tyler, 9 months old. But she is also an amazing wife, daughter/daughter-in-law, sister, aunt and friend.
After six months of aggressive chemotherpay in 2009, Trina is currently in remission. But her battle with leukemia is far from over. While I struggle with the question of why this is happening to such a wonderful person and I continue to pray for her and her sweet family, the truth is that she continues to amaze me with her strength, her courage and her determination. She is a fighter. She is a survivor. And she is my hero!
My personal goal is to raise $2900.00 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society before May 24th and I'd like to request your help. Please make a donation to support my participation in the marathon and help me make a difference and save lives. No amount is too small and every penny you give helps find a cure.
