Before Christmas, we offered the book One Goal II in a drawing for people who donated from December 16-25 and raised nearly $700. This morning my goddaughter pulled a name from a pan (no hats were available). The winning donors were "Robert and Dolly Bacalski," who will definitely appreciate this beautiful multimedia book.
We're getting very, very close to our fundraising goal. To thank our many donors, and encourage those of you who've been waiting for a nudge, we're launching Twelve Days of Donor Appreciation with a gift card drawing every day. Yep, everyone who donates between now and January 6 will be entered into a drawing and a new name will be pulled each day. All of our current donors will be included, and those who make a second donation will Get a bonus entry. That's right, two donations get you three tickets and no donation is too small (or too large).
Help us meet our goal and make the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's trademark "Someday is Today" campaign come true.
Update -- We raised nearly $200 from Abbey Press! Thank you, everyone!
Through December 15, you can do your Christmas shopping at Abbey Press Fundraising and we'll get 50% of the profits! It's super easy and they have wonderful gifts, cards, wrapping papers -- even mugs and handmade soaps!
Just go to www.abbeypressfundraising.com and do your shopping. When you check out, all you have to do to give us credit is:
It's that easy, and that wonderful!
If you have any trouble with the site, just contact us directly and we'll either talk you through it or place the order for you.
We are getting closer to our fundraising goal every day! One of our donors has offered us the collectors edition Blackhawks commemorative book ONE GOAL II as a prize, and everyone who donates between now and Christmas Day will be entered into a special drawing for this amazing book, which includes awesome photos, a built-in video screen and a DVD. The first edition sold out but we're happy to present this great item to our generous donors as a thank you.
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and all our Team in Training teammates also have One Goal -- stopping blood cancer in its tracks. Your donation is helping families face the challenges of treatment and helping scientists improve those treatments. Someday is today, thanks to you.
Here we are! One month to go! We have been so thrilled with the experience of Team in Training! The people we've met, the stories we've heard, and the fun we've had have made TNT a true blessing in our lives. We are getting closer and closer to our fundraising goal of $5800! With one month left we are starting our final push for donations. According to our math we only need about 240 more people to donate $10 each by the end of the year. That's possible isn't it? After all, if you're reading this it's because you came here to donate, right? Well let me tell you right now that whether you donate $10, $100, or $1, you are doing a very special thing. Somebody fighting blood cancer or caring for a loved one with blood cancer is finding the road a little easier to travel thanks to the help of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Your contribution makes a big difference in so many lives. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Lisa Helene summed up our experience at training today with a beautiful poem. You can see the video of her moving speech below:
Please pass this link on to the special people in your life. Let's work together to make this holiday season brighter for everyone!
God Bless.
UPDATE: -- We did it, or more accurately, YOU DID IT! Our Something Stupid campaign was a big success so we'll be rehearsing and then recording the song for you! MANY, MANY thanks!
If we raise $2,000 by October 31, we'll sing the great Frank Sinatra duet "Something Stupid." Besides the great amusement of watching that on YouTube (which really should be more than enough), here are some great reasons to donate to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through Team in Training:
We did not know those grim statistics when we started our Team in Training quest. Fortunately our next seven reasons offer hope. Thanks to donors like you, LLS can provide:
LLS offers patients and their families the knowledge and resources they need to face their diagnosis. The Team in TNT is everyone, everyone who donates, everyone who races, everyone who cheers on racers, patients and survivors, everyone who researches cures, everyone who prays.
Won't you please donate and join everyone? We can't do this without you.
