Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

So, I did it. I finished another event with Team in Training. I don't think I've ever run a race that was colder than this year's Walt Disney World Half Marathon on January 9th. 34 degrees, winds at 15mph, and a wintry mix of rain, sleet and snow falling. By the time it was over my clothes were pretty soaked and my charcoal hand warmers inside my running gloves had my palms on fire, but a few inches away my fingertips had no feeling. Sure the race was cold, but the 45 minutes standing in a line waiting for the bus back to our rooms was downright shiver inducing. Certainly not what most of us expected, when signing up to race in Orlando, Florida.

But think about how unexpected, the news must be for a leukemia patient at first diagnosis. My wife asked her OBGYN about what she thought was a muscle pull. Turned out it was her spleen that was enlarged, "Oh it's probably nothing, but we'll send you to see a radiologist." Then, the radiologist says, "Spleen looks smooth, no lesions, just enlarged. It's probably nothing, but you should see a hematologist to be sure."

I was able to walk back into my room and warm up , Leukemia Patients who battle the diseases with no cure, don't get that luxury. They live each day with that anxiety hanging over them, hoping to walk into that warm room of a cure.

That's where you come in. I may have finished the race but as you can see, I have not finished my fundraising goal. I know that any day now, a new cure may be found. Why? Because my wife just wrapped up a clinical trial at Johns Hopkins ( http://tinyurl.com/CML-Trial ) that is getting us closer to understanding how to get CML Patients across the finish line.

You can still make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.

Jen and I thank you for your support!
