Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to participate in The Disney Marathon (Yes 26.2 miles all at one time all by myself no taking turns) as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure! There is one amazing little boy who has touched my life so much (picture coming soon) that I would not only think of doing this event I would get of the couch (I know a huge task in it self) but start running for him and his family. I met (so to speak) Heide Mayo on a twins yahoo group while i was pregnant with my twins Savanna and Sydnie. The Mayo's had four boys and we would have four girls... We talked and she answered ALL my question. About 18 months ago she sent a e-mail that would turn everyone who knows them world upside down Dylan has AML M4 Leukemia (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) everyone was shock the entire twins yahoogroup sent card... after a long a 18 month on July 5th Dylan passed away ... The family now is adjusting without Dylan

During the last 18 month I have learn so much from this amazing family one thing never put of what you want to do, two never take you family for granted... So Today I am shouting to the world I AM RUNNING FOR DYLAN the strongest most amazing little boy I have ever come to know... and I will not stop fighting for this cause till there is a cure so that another family does not have to go through the pain the Mayo's are going through PLEASE HELP ME!!!

UPDATE:

So I I am still training and getting really close to the goal... But I still need tons of prayer and support I am having knee problems and working on building up my thigh and working (even harder) to raise a ton of money for LLS so another family does not have to go through the pain I have seen (and heard) so many families go through... Please feel free to bookmark my page and pass it on to everyone you know... FYI 18 miles this Saturday (11/22) in 30 degree weather... LOVING training in the winter :-) LOL come on Disney :-) Thank you all for your love and support See you at the finish line!!!!
