Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to participate in the Walt Disney World Half Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

This half marathon is something I have undertaken to better myself, but more importantly to better the lives of those affected by leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma. My own life was touched when in the midst of a carefree college semester one of my close friends was diagnosed with lymphoma, thanks to causes such as the LLS her treatment options were varied and combined with her own personal strength she is happy and healthy today. My participation and completion of this half marathon cannot begin to match the strength and courage of persons living with Leukemia and lymphoma, but the funds I raise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected.

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. If you have a personal story or loved one for who you would like me to personally honor with my run I would be happy to include them as one of my honored teammates.

I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thank you for your support!

""We were young, we were foolish, we were arrogant, but we were right." Daniel Ellsberg. I can't afford this but it's such a brave act to commit to this action. Keep up the good work."

"Hi Heather, Long time. Good for you that you are doing this, but no surprise- it is true to your character. I have a colleague- young mother with 2 young children- recently diagnosed with leukemia- very very poignant. Congratulations on all your success. Larry "
