Teams are made up of individuals. Without them, there is no team.
I’m participating again in the Nike Women's Half Marathon as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training in order to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. In April 2013 I ran in the Nike Women's Half as a member of TNT and ran in honor of my friend's daughter, Kaylee and a former co-worker's son, Dylan, who are now cancer survivors (yay!). I also ran in memory of Joan and Frances, who last their battle with Lymphoma. I had an amazing experience raising money for LLS and running for my honored patients.
The DC area chapter, which I am a part of, is running in honor of Tyler CrabTree. He is a 4-year-old boy currently fighting Leukemia and has been battling cancer since he was 2 and a 1/2 years old. Your donations help Tyler and other patients by providing information so his family can make informed decisions on his treatment as well as research on drugs that will help him beat cancer!
I am so excited to participate in this event again. My fundraising group raised over $1.5 million dollars while also training for the Nike half marathon! The funds we raised and continue to raise do make a major difference and I'm honored to be a part of such a great cause again. During my time as a TNT particpate last year I was able to meet many people who's lives were improved because of the Team in Training program and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It was a life-changing experience.
This year I decided to take on a new challenge and not only help raise money for LLS as an individual member, but I also became a team captain and have encouraged others to join the cause with me. We are 10 members strong! Together we will be training and raising money for LLS and helping to rid the world of blood cancers once and for all!
This is a photo collage of me running with TNT in April of 2013.
Your fundraising dollars go toward research to find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. They also go toward helping patients make informed decisions and provide support through their treatment process. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating in this event and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well. Over 85% of your donation goes directly to helping patients fighting cancer. Please help the cause by making a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures and improving the quality of life for cancer patients.
