Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to participate in the Nike Women's Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. As I did last year, I will be on the walking team and look forward to completing my first marathon. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

My honored teammates this year are as follows:

My wife Donna - Donna is a 11 year survivor of multiple myeloma. We are very grateful to all our family and friends for supporting us through her difficult treatments and we praise God for giving good health to Donna.

My mother Emilie Seebach - my mom is fighting a battle now with Fallopian tube cancer. With all that she has dealt with over the past couple of years with this cancer, she has continued to be an inspiration to all who know her. She has served as a tremendous role model in all that she does and I love her very dearly. Pictured with her is my step-father, Howard Seebach.

I also am walking in memory of a very special girl that we have known over the past two years:

Carol Zhao - Donna and I met Carol through the ESL classes that Donna was coordinating. At three months of age, Carol was diagnosed with leukemia and began treatments for it. She went through two years of intensive treatments and overcame many obstacles in trying to regain her health. Sadly, she lost her battle to a lung infection in April 2010. She was a beautiful and wonderful child...it was a heartbreaking loss but we know that Carol is in Heaven now and is an angel with our Lord.

My goal with Team in Training is to help those who suffer from cancer and to hopefully contribute to finding a cure. My steadfast prayer is that one day, we can be cancer free - what a wonderful thought. I will do my part one step at a time.
