THANK YOU!!

I reached my fundraising goal today and I wanted to thank EVERYONE that donated either monetarily or through encouragement. The emails and phone calls kept me motivated through the many months of training and fundraising. Thank you so much!! I will continue to fundraise through race day so keep the donations flowing - just because I hit the minimum doesn't mean I won't give up supporting the cause!

Why I run...

I am training to run my third marathon of 26.2 miles... this time to Save Lives with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in San Francisco, CA on October 19, 2008!

Every five minutes someone in the US finds out that they have leukemia, lymphoma, or myeloma... and every ten minutes a child or adult dies from one of these diseases. As cross-country "phenom" in high school and an endurance runner as an adult, I decided it was time to use my runner's legs to help cure these diseases and raise funds for blood cancer research.

I'm completing this event, with the National Capital Area Team in Training Chapter, in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support... to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

I would be honored to count on your support, and invite you to be a part of my goal... that of raising $3,800 by September 30, 2008.
