Racing to Save Lives



Update: Everyone on the Team finished the VA Beach race over Labor Day Weekend and now it is on to San Francisco.

I'm training to participate in the Va Beach Half-Marathon, the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco, and the Marine Corp Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma, myeloma, and all forms of cancer from taking more lives. I am completing these events in honor of all individuals who are battling cancers and especially our good friends Don and Norma Toenjes. Don (picture above) has Mantle Cell Lymphoma and has been undergoing treatment since 2004. His cancer has recently came out of remission and unfortunately he will need additional therapy. Please keep Don and the people struggling with cancer in your prayers. They are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!



This is my fifth year participating with Team in Training and I will be working as a Training Captain. In that role, I will be assisting our coaches in setting up the training runs for our team and assisting the Team Captains in mentoring all our new runners and walkers. We are looking forward to another great season -- GO TEAM!



Please be generous with your support - the $800M we have raised to date in the 20 years of Team in Training is making a huge difference.
