I'm training to participate in the Nation's Triathlon (Olympic distance) as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. Team In Training (TNT) exists to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma; and to improve the quality of life for patients and their families. There are currently more than 747,000 Americans living with a blood cancer and every ten minutes a life is claimed by blood cancer.
For me, this cause is very personal. In 1995 my younger brother Adam passed away after battling leukemia for most of his life. He was five years old. Adam had acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), which is the leading cause of cancer related death in children. The good news is that the survival rate for ALL has risen from 3% in 1945 to over 90% today. This is in large part due to the money that The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has raised to aid researchers in their fight to find cures for this disease.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
A donation of $25 provides patients and their loved ones with FREE booklets that contain up-to-date information on their disease and help them make informed decisions about their treatment options.
A donation of $50 makes possible a Family Support group with a trained facilitator where comfort can be found and experiences can be shared among patients and family members.
A donation of $100 helps supply laboratory researchers with supplies and materials critical to carrying out their search for cures.
A donation of $150 provides financial aid to blood cancer patients to use during treatment, regardless of income, diagnosis or duration of treatment. This money can cover everything from transportation to and from treatment to the cost of a bone marrow transplant.
No donation is too small! Each dollar you give contributes to the mission of eradicating blood cancers. I appreciate your support!
