We are the American University Team in Training Team! GO EAGLES! All of us are training together to run the DC Rock and Roll Half Marathon on March 17th, 2012 and hoping to raise over $10,000 in the process. Please consider supporting us in our quest to wipe out blood cancers. All proceeds from our fundraising go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). Every little bit helps!
Thank you so much,
John, Karie, Colleen, Sarah, Meredith and Kelsey

Together we are hoping to raise over $10,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, please give us a hand!

I'm John Lui, and I run a lot. In one calendar year, I ran 53 full marathons in 41 states. I have informally helped four strangers (women) qualify for Boston, and I have informally paced several marathons. I have a lot of stories and tips to share, and if you're interested, contact me! <johnwaynelui@gmail.com>

Meredith Husband is a second year MPA student. She went to Penn State for an undergraduate degree in political science. She works/interns at the Center for Financial Services Innovation (CFSI). In her free time, she runs, volunteers, dog-sits, rides horses, and loves to learn how to do new things. This cause hits close to home for her since her sister-in-law is a Lymphoma survivor, and her fiancé’s mother was very involved with the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life before she passed away from breast cancer two years ago. This is her first half marathon!

Karie is a PhD student in Justice, Law and Society in AU's School of Public Affairs. She is focusing on women's rights in developing countries, largely due to her experience working with female child laborers in Nepal. Karie hopes to become a college professor, author, and human rights activist. She has several races under her belt, but this is her first attempt at a marathon!

My name is Colleen Ryan. I love running and have completed a half marathon, 10 miler, and variety of shorter races in the past. I'm really excited for the challenge of trying to complete my first full marathon and to be helping a great cause in the process. (I realized I didn't actually attach the picture last time so I attached it today :)

Kelsey Kerle O’Brien is a first year MPP student with an interest in Environmental Policy. She is the Community Service Chair of the SPA Graduate Student Council and also interns with the Arlington Department of Environmental Services. She is running in honor of Mrs. Doheny, and Ms. Lela Faye (her namesake).

Sarah is the Alumni Networking and Professional Development Chair of the SPA Graduate Student Council. She has never participated in a race and looks forward to doing so now.
