Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I am honored to participate in another season of TNT this spring as the Mission Captain. As I train for the 2010 National Marathon in March and the Pittsburgh Marathon in May, I am reminded with each step that I take of the courage and strength of those who have battled blood cancers. This year is especially meaningful to me as my late brother, JP, would have turned 30 on 11/12/2009. JP overcame Hodgkins Lymphoma in 1988 and passed away in 2005 from thyroid cancer. My youngest brother, Michael, overcame stage 2 Hodgkins in 2005 as a senior in college. He faced bi-weekly chemo treatments with humor and grace and is an honored TNT teammate in Goleta, California.
As the Mission Captain this season, I am privileged to work with all of the TNT athletes and our honored teammates as we raise awareness and funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's Lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
I am completing these events to honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
I am also taking each step forward for the next six months to pay tribute to those who so bravely fought cancer and blessed us all with their lives. Their spirits continue on with each of us. In my own family, cancer has taken away several of our treasured members: JP Lovette, Mathew Meglin, Patricia Meglin. I miss them every day.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the mission of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
I hope you will visit my web site often.
Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your
support!
