Why I run with TNT
Aug 17, 2017 by Liz Badley

I run a lot. It's something that I really enjoy doing. It's a form of exercise, a form of therapy, and even a social outlet. But it can be a very selfish activity. I pay to run races I know I'll never win, just to experience them. I thought that was enough until I selfishly joined TNT for "free" triathlon training in 2013.

I was looking for a team. I was looking for support. I was looking for training.

What I found was so much more. Sure, I found a team, support, and training, but I also found a purpose bigger than I ever knew I needed. I found inspiration.

Blood cancers make up the most commonly diagnosed cancers out there. They are unique because they are actually very easy to study and do research on. Advancements in the treatments of blood cancers have lead to treatments for other types of cancers too. So helping to fund research (part of LLS's mission) for a cure for blood cancers could eventually lead to a cure for ALL forms of cancer.

Please consider a donation to help this amazing cause. And thank you if you have already donated or supported my efforts in the past!

If you're interested in helping out, LLS has fundraising and volunteer opportunities that will fit into anyone’s life. Let's make someday, today!

Beautycounter for TNT
Jun 12, 2017 by Liz Badley

I'm happy to announce that 35% of everything purchased through the link http://po.st/TNT2017 will be donated to this page (or to the team page once I hit my minimum).

It's crazy to think that back in February I was able to hit my fundraising goal for the Chicago Marathon with only doing a Beautycounter fundraiser and a footbal pool! Here's hoping fundraising for the Marine Corps Marathon goes just a smoothly.

It was 4 years ago that I first joined TNT, hoping to get "free" training for my first triathlon. But instead I got mission. My sport is so much more than fun now. Raising funds for and working with TNT and LLS means that someday, blood cancers will be a thing of the past.

Please consider making a donation. Thank you if you already have!

Chicago Marathon
Nov 03, 2016

What do me and my friends do for fun? Oh, we just run races and cure cancer!

LB and I are getting the Out For Blood band back together with some new members (welcome Katie!) for the Chicago Marathon on October 8, 2017!

This year I'll be running in memory of my boyfriend's grandmother, Mimi, who lost her battle with Meyloma after a long life. The treatments she recieved help to prolong her life and give her a few good years after diagnosis!
