Running For The Cure

Hello Friends and Family!
I have embarked on a challenging journey, that I never thought I would accomplish: to run my first ever marathon on October 27, 2013. I’m participating in the 2013 Marine Corps Marathon as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training.
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has a mission to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma.
I am running, in particular, in memory of my late Aunt Mary, who lost her battle with Lymphoma in 1999. In her honor, and in the honor of all people who battle with blood cancers, I am running my first marathon to raise money to help find cures!
I believe, with your help, I can assist my team to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society with my contribution of $2,000.
In addition to fundraising, I am going on a journey of self-discovery. I am also pledging to improve the quality of my life through training physically and mentally for this task. I fully expect this first ever marathon to be a life changing experience!
