"What is not started today is never finished tomorrow." - Johann Wolfgang van Goethe
I'm training to complete the Marine Corps Marathon in October as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am racing in honor of the real heroes on our team, the individuals who are battling blood cancers, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!!
I am training and racing in memory of my uncle Marek, my Godmother's husband, who passed away earlier this year from Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I am also running in honor of some amazing individuals who are survivors-extraordinaire! I do all of this for Paulette, Shannon, Laura and Ryan. My goal is to make sure that no family has to go through what their families have been through.
I am 2 months away from the marathon now, and I have never been this nervous in my life! We have an 18 mile run this weekend and this will be the furthest distance I have ever run in my life! I am also well into my fundraising. As of today, I have raised 43% of my goal of $2,500.I still have a long way to go and a lot less time to do it in, so I hope you guys help out as much as you can!
As the quote says, let's start donating today so that we can see a cure for this horrendous disease tomorrow!
Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
