Welcome family and friends to my Team In Training home page!

Once again I'm training to participate as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. Not only am I a proud participant, but also a mentor and alumni of Team in Training. This May I will be competing in the Capital of Texas Triathlon in Austin, TX on May 25, 2009.

All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers and in memory of those who have lost their lives to these cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Update:

Our training has gotten under way and I am defenitely excited for another great season. I got back into the pool after a 6 month absence and I defenitely have missed the feel of the water!

Thank you to everyone who has stepped up and donated. Please continue to support my efforts and pass the word along.

I would also ask you to keep my friend Carol in your thoughts and prayers the next few weeks. Carol and her sister supported me during the Philadelphia Insurance triathlon, my first TNT event. Carol not only donated but attended the weekend festivities and events. When my own family was unable to attend, she was there at the finish line to congratulate me.

Carol is undergoing surgery to remove cancer from her kidney. She promises to support me in my fund raising even when she is facing a life threating disease of her own. Her dedication to my cause despite her own challenges makes her a true hero!

3/25/09: Well folks, thanks for all the support these past couple of months. I am recommiting to the program, but I also have a huge challenge ahead. I need to raise $2000 in 6 weeks.

Just remember that of all the challenges we face on a daily basis, nothing compares to the challenge one faces when fighting for their life or the life of a loved one. Please donate, and please pass the word on! Help me cross the finish line for the 3rd time!
