Racing In California to Save Lives and eat Cupcakes
How crazy would it be to raise $3000... so I can go 2,474 miles... and run/walk 26.2 miles??? (26 miles sounds like nothing after traveling 2,474!) Apparently, not that crazy at all!!! This is completely do-able with your help!
I'm training to participate in the San Diego Rock n Roll Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress... See how I do in the cold winter months training in the ice and snow. I'm aching for the summer time!!
I will be doing a raffle and some special incentives that involve cupcakes and cakeballs!! I mean it's a win/win situtation.. giving money for a great cause and being able to suff your face with some wonderful baked treats!!!

So we ran our first group run on Sunday and it was great!! The weather finally cooperated, the sun shined, and it was a brisk 41 degrees. My marathon training group consists of all women from all ages, professions, backgrounds, and lifestyles. It was amazing to see such a variety of people training for such a huge event and raising money for a good cause. I really think the two male coaches are in for a real treat trying to handle all these girls!!!

FINALLY, we heard there was going to be 60 degree weather!!! Too bad, it the 60 didn't come until 3pm that afternoon. TNT met bright and early, 8am to be exact, at Winston Salem's Salem Lake, with a huge group ready to get their run on. Being a brisk 30 out we quickly warmed up and were on our way. By the way ,Salem lake is a beautiful place to run or stroll if you ever get the chance to explore. Ups and downs, mud puddles, snow and ice, random branches about, dance music and hiphop it was a very eventful run. I finished my 7 miler to the cheers of my team mates and covered in mud- what a great feeling. I couldn't think of a better way to spend a Saturday morning!!!
