Joel and I attended the LLS Man/Woman of the Year Gala on Saturday night. It was a great event in support of a great cause! Here are Joel and I with some of the LCH crew in attendance. If you're wondering, that's an autographed basketball from a sports package Joel and I got at the silent auction!
Mom wasn't the only one working out yesterday at the JCC! After our Sunday morning Moms in Training workout, the kids got to do a special Kids in Training workout! Here are some pictures of Caroline working out with trainer Adam!
Honored hero Levi had a great time working out too!
I've been sidelined this week by illness and a brief hospital stay! But now it's time to get back to business. My hard work fundraising and training is dedicated to a little boy named Camden (pictured below). Camden began battling acute megakaryoblastic leukemia (AMKL), at age one-and-a-half and, despite a very rigorous treatment period of 1 year that no child (or mother) should have to endure, Camden is now a happy 3 year-old who is celebrating being cancer-free!

A child diagnosed with ALL (the most common form of leukemia) in 1960 had just a 4% chance of survial. Today, thanks to the remarkable research funded by LLS, the chance of survival for children battling the same cancer has climbed to 91%! That’s a huge stride, but what about the 9% of kids that don’t survive? We need treatments that work for them.
What about other cancers that haven’t had the same advancements? For example, just over 25% of all newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients survive beyond 5 years and the standard therapy has barely changed in over 30 years. That has to change. Please support Camden and the other 1.1 million people living with, or in remission from a blood cancer in the U.S. by donating what you can today. No donation is too small!
Thank you!
Week One is in the books! Here are some pictures from my first workout at the JCC on Sunday! Thanks so much to those of you who have contributed already! So far I have raised over $500 and my team has raised almost $5,000! Way to go Moms! SInce 1948 LLS has been a major funder of blood cancer research through donations like yours!

YOUR CHILD HAS CANCER
As a mom, I cannot begin to imagine the sheer terror of hearing those words come out of our doctor’s mouth. Sadly, that was Meghan’s reality when her son, Camden, was just 18 months old. Meghan is one of the incredibly courageous moms who is part of our team.
As a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Moms In Training program, I’ve teamed up with hundreds of moms throughout the Charlotte area, united in the fight against cancer. I am participating in honor of children like Camden and in memory of too many people touched by cancer.
In 1960, if Camden had been diagnosed with ALL, the most common leukemia, he would have had a 4% chance of survival. Today, thanks to the research funded by LLS, childhood leukemia now has a 91% survival rate.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Moms In Training and help get us all closer to a world without cancer.
Thank you!
