Dr. Michael Keating and I after I was declared cancer-free in April this year
Hello again and welcome to my Team In Training home page.
Many, if not all of you, who have come to this page know that I am a survivor of both chronic lymphocytic leukemia and B-cell lymphoma - a "Richter's Transformation" of CLL. I am cancer free, thanks to the grace of God, my sister Laure who donated her stem cells to me, and the incredible efforts, treatments, and knowledge of the doctors at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. While I was in the waiting room at my first visit there, a volunteer from the local chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) came over to talk with Renee and I. This is a fantastic organization that is committed to finding cures for all blood cancers, as well as the care of patients and survivors. I have joined LLS through this wonderful Team in Training (TNT) to help in this cause and mission.
My first endurance event is the Raleigh City of Oaks 10K Run-Walk on November 4th. The TNT organization emphasizes improving health through running, walking, cycling, and even triathlon participation. I am proud to be a part of it and I hope you will join me by making a donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society here on my website.
