FOCUS
For the past few weeks my Focus has been to re-align myself with who and what are important to me and my goals. I came across this picture and it stuck with me. I'm not sure why but it did.
Besides being pretty it speaks volumes to what I was missing. FOCUS.
Peace & Blessings.

Oki (Okinawa) All Day!
I love the island of Okinawa. It is rich with culture, delicious foods, gorgeous beaches and has overwhelmingly gracious people. Shisaa or Shi-Shi dog
A Shisaa is a lion-like figure used to ward off evil spirits. It was introduced to Okinawa from China around the 14th century. Shisaa can be seen on roofs or at gates of Okinawan houses and businesses in all shapes, colors and sizes. How they came to protectors is a story told and retold over the centuries too often to recite them all. One tells of a small boy who was given a clay shisaa as a gift from an Okinawan nobleman. One day, a dragon appeared out of the ocean to destroy the village. The clay shisaa came to life and saved the village and that is why shisaa's are used to ward off evil spirits. To this day, a home or business will usually display two shisaas; one, with its mouth open to scare off evil spirits, and the other with its mouth closed to keep the good spirits in.

Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
I have made a personal commitment to raise $3000! This is a big challenge, but not nearly as big as the challenges cancer patients face everyday. I pledged to train hard with my coach and teammates, and am dedicated to crossing the finish line race day to “Outrun Cancer”.
About 4 years ago I made a decision to change my life and started walking and eating healthy to lose weight. Since then I lost 20+ pounds and try to motivate my friends and family to do the same. In February 2011 I ran my first 10K. I've become a new person every-time I lace up my shoes I tell myself "make this moment count."
I am so thankful for the opportunity I have with Team In Training to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and “Race with a Purpose”. I hope that my participation in Team In Training will help raise funds and support for a worthy cause.
Keep in mind many corporations have charity matching programs and will match any donation you provide. It’s an easy way to double your contribution! And all donations are 100% tax-deductible.
Thanks for your support.
