After suffering with a shin splint in my right leg for a couple of weeks, I am now back on track. This week, I'm building my miles back up to where they should be and hopefully I can run the full schedule next week.
I'm excited about running now. I actually look forward to it most days. Of course, some days I just want to NOT run. But it is getting better.
Thanks to everyone who has supported me financially so far. I am at 65% as of today, which is WAY exciting.
I really appreciate your donation - remember all proceeds go directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Any little amount helps!
Here's the bridge I LOVE to run from Ocean Springs to Biloxi. It's a pretty hefty hill!
Thanks for your support!

Slowly, but surely, I am improving in my running. I think my main obstacle is the mental aspect of running. I try to talk myself through the next "leg" - whether that is another lap at the track or to the next mailbox or through the next mile. But I often stop before I get to that point that I am aiming for. I am working on this!
I am SO thankful for my training partner who I run with during the week. She keeps me motivated and pushes me to run better and (sometimes) faster.
We are up to 4 miles on our weekday runs and this Saturday we will run 8 miles! If I can think about it in 2-mile segments, I think I'll be okay. :)
Thanks for your support!
Hi everyone! Training for the Gulf Coast Half-Marathon in Mandeville, LA is in full swing! Last night I was able to run with my group for the first time, and - although I was SLOW - it went well! I am hoping to add some interval training into my Thursday run, so that's what I'm looking forward to tonight.
This Saturday our long run bumps up to 5 miles, so we'll see how my body reacts to that! We are running in Ocean Springs and it's SO nice, so hopefully my mind will be distracted. :)
Thanks for reading! Remember, all donations go straight to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Any amount is greatly appreciated!

Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page!
I'm so excited to be training to participate in the Gulf Coast Half Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
