I am training with Team-in-Training to run a marathon in Seattle on June 27, 2009. Our team is training in honor of a little girl named Gracie Theis. Gracie was born with Down syndrome, and at the age of two she was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. Thankfully, Gracie has now been in remission since January 2007.

I am also running in honor of our dear family friend Joan, who passed away from leukemia a couple of years ago after battling the illness for a number of years; and my wonderful Aunt Pat, who died from another form of cancer several years ago, who I greatly miss.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has funded important research which, among other things, has improved survival rates for children with acute lymphocytic leukemia. I am asking you to support me as I train for this great cause. Your donation is 100% tax deductible.

All donations great and small are greatly appreciated. However, I have established fundraising levels to entice you to give perhaps just a little more.

PHOTO COLLECTOR

For your donation of $25 or more, I will send you, the donor, an AUTOGRAPHED picture of me (frame not included) after the race, no matter how terrible I look after running so many miles! This is sure to be a treasured keepsake for your family for many years to come.

MAKE ME FAMOUS

For your donation of $50 or more, you will receive the autographed picture, as well as your very own piece of fame - YOUR NAME on my jersey at the starting line of the race.

THIRSTY ONE

For your donation of $100 or more, you will receive the picture, the fame, and a Team-in-Training 22 oz. water bottle.

CURE CLUB

For your donation of $250, you receive all of the above. $250 funds one day of cancer research.
