RUN LIKE A GIRL...
...INSPIRE YOUR GIRLS TO RUN!!!
Taking on the challenge to run a marathon might sound crazy to most people, but I know without a doubt it can be done. Being faced with fighting a blood cancer, when the treatments are limited and the cures are few, is a challenge I'm not sure I could take on.
There are three people in my life that I am honoring by running the Nike Women's Marathon, and raising funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma society.
RandiJo (5 years cancer free) is a dear friend who battled Hodgkins while raising her 5 year old son.
John Dingley is the owner of the Pub that I manage, as well as one of my favorite people on earth. John is currently living with a form of Lymphoma that does not even have a treatment, let alone a cure.
And last but not least is a new honoree in my life named Abe. This amazing 7 year old was diagnosed with ALL just before his 3rd birthday and underwent 3 years and 2 months of chemotherapy. Six months later he relapsed and is currently being treated at Childrens Hospital. When I asked Abe what he would like people to know about him , he said that he LOVES PENGUINS and HATES CATS!!! I also happen to know that he really likes the french fries and Sprite at Merlins Rest!
