WELCOME TO MY TEAM IN TRAINING (TNT) HOME PAGE!
By participating as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) TNT, I am raising funds to help find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients.
This is my gift to my original hero Jane, and to the nearly 50 blood-cancer fighting heroes that inspire me. My heroes are young and old and everywhere in between. Some are in treatment, some are survivors and some, like my beautiful little girl are angels. But, all of them have one thing in common – they are amazing individuals! In the next three months as part of my awareness and fundraising campaign for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Association, I have the honor of introducing my heroes to you, and in some cases sharing their story.
Throughout the weeks, I will be sharing stories of my heroes, my own memories, stories Jane left behind and information about Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma on my blog site at https://fiemeyer.wordpress.com/. And, as I introduce them I will add their Hero card here.
Grandma’s Half Marathon is so much more than running 13.1 miles. This fundraising campaign is so much more than asking for donations. This is about celebrating heroes. Surviving the diagnosis, fighting cancer, smiling through the pain, crying when they can’t take it anymore, caregiving, grieving and LIVING – our heroes, their caregivers, their families … they embraced the diagnosis. They remind us that our lives are vulnerable. They remind me that we are greater than our biggest disappointments.
If you know someone to add to my heroes list (in treatment, surviving or an angel because of Leukemia, Lymphoma or Myeloma), please reach out to me … there is always room for another hero!
Your donation will help fund treatments that save lives every day; like immunotherapies that use a person’s own immune system to kill cancer. You may not know it, but every single donation helps save a life with breakthrough therapies such as these.
Patients need these cures and they need your support. Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help get us all closer to a world without blood cancers. Thank you!
Thank you for believing in me! And, if you see me running – please join me … on the pavement, the treadmill or in spirit!
With gratitude,
Jil, always and forever Jane’s mom
