Knitting up a Cure
Dec 11, 2012 by Laura Galler

When fundraising on this scale, you need to use the resources and skills you have. I love to knit and it is something I can do and still be at home with my kids. In order to raise the last part of my goal I will be knitting up a cure! Hats, scarves, baby blankets: you name it, I knit it. $25 of each price is a donation to LLS and the rest helps me make up the cost of the yarn. Need gifts this holiday season? Let me know and I can help!

This is Worth It

While I was bootblocking today, Josh drove by with boys and Danny was very sad to see me and not be with me. I had one of those moments when I felt guilty for fundraising for an hour instead of being with my boys. But then I thought of all of the children and families that get more time together because of the research and services that the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society have funded. An hour or two a week to support LLS is worth it to find a cure! Please support local blood cancer patients and families by donating today!

Chang of Plans

This year has not gone according to plan: plantar faciitis derailed my traing for Anchorage and life in general derailed training for Nike. Unfortunately cancer has not been cured yet, so I am back on track fundraising to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and running the Walt Disney World Marathon in January 2013. (maybe even the Goofy Challenge) I know too many people who have been derailed by a fight with leukemia or lymphoma to not be involved with Team in Training and the wonderful support they provide local cancer patients and families. The reseach LLS has funded has saved lives of people I know.
Please help me by donating today!
Thank you!!

Ready to Run

It is officially time to start up another amazing season of fundraising and running with Team in Training! I am running the Nike Women's Marathon for the second time, this October 14. But, more importantly, I get the opportunity to help fight blood cancers with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The money I raise stays in the Kansas City area supporting research and patient services. I run in honor of my grandfather, my friends and teammates who have faught so bravely. Their battles have been harder than any race I will run.

Teams are made up of individuals. Without them, there is no team.
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in a sports endurance event as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
