Reality Check

A 22 mile run last saturday in the freezing cold and a 10 mile Christmas Eve run today to raise money to fight blood cancers. As uncomfortable as the cold winter runs are, I am reminded today that the discomfort is trivial compared to the pain and suffering that cancer patients endure each day in their fight against the disease.

I am at it again... My 2nd season supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in finding cures and treatments for blood cancers while training to compete in a triathlon in honor of the many that battle or are affected by them.
This year our team is heading for the foothills and freezing waters of Loveland, CO in June and I am acting as the team mentor. Don't worry! "One Loop Pate" is not providing any course or training direction. However, LLS is allowing me to guide and assist the team as we put the FUN in fundraising!
There will be plenty of opportunities to help. Here are just a few to get started:
1. Christmas Gifts that Give Back - Cookbooks for sale, $10 each. Family-favorite recipes make fantastic gifts and stocking stuffers. All proceeds benefit LLS.
2. If You Can Hang - We are still looking for new team members to face the challenge with us in June. Just ask me for more information.
3. Going Green! - Look for us on St. Patrick's Day parade. We will be selling beads and promoting an all around good time!
4. No Cash, No Worries! - The 2nd annual LLS Garage Sale will be in May. Donate your unwanted stuff to sell. Everything raised supports LLS and anything not sold is donated to good will.
5. Just Make a Donation - Right here, right now on my website. It is 100% tax deductible!
