Racing to Save Lives



Dear friends and family!



I’m writing to thank you for your awesome and generous support of the Leukemia Society as I raised funds to cure cancer by participating in the Nation’s Triathlon on September 14. Your donations helped me raise $4,185. Our group of 770 volunteer-fundraising athletes raised $3 million to help find a cure and treat cancer patients!



It was an unforgettable experience that involved raising money while training for five months leading up to the big day. Race day was spectacular. The temperature was 98 degrees by the time we got to the run part of the triathlon and that was a challenge. But that doesn’t compare to the challenge faced by cancer patients we are trying to find cure and treatments for.



Our team of 35 joined another 3,800 participating in this race, which had us swimming in the Potomac River for 1.5-kilometers, riding our bikes for 40 kilometers and running around the capital city for 10 kilometers.
