I am pleased to say that I have finally achieved my dream of completing the marathon. Doing it while helping the cause of leukemia and lymphoma has added a special memory to my dream.
I want to personally thank everyone who supported my fundraising effort as well as those who provided encouragement and support throughout my training.
Thank you once again for your contribution to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Your contributions will help find cure for this deadly disease and help countless patients achieve their dreams as well!

Hope is alive

I am overwhelmed by the response I have received to my fundraising request for the Leukemia society. I knew I had friends and colleagues I could count on, when I signed up for this, but the amount I have been able to raise in a short 3 weeks of time has beaten even my expectations. For that, my sincere THANK YOU to all!!
My daughters have also got into fund raising action. As soon as I mentioned that I was raising funds for Leukemia both of them offered to contribute from their savings. They have helped out in other ways such as decorating donation boxes that we have placed at local shops for fundraising. I am very proud of them.
This level of response and support gives me confidence that I will be able to finish the marathon, no matter how many obstacles I may encounter along the way. But more importantly, it gives hope to those with Leukemia that they can always count on support from others, even unknowns, to help them fight the disease. I can see the day when we will have cure for the disease and the leukemia patients will be able to live normal life, just like everyone else.
Thank you once again for your support!

Inspiration

It is said that inspiration can come from many different angles. Some are inspired by desire to push themselves beyond their normal capacity, just because they can (or cannot !!). Others want to "change the world". While some others are inspired by simple desire to live.
For me the inspiration to run Chicago Marathon has come from combination of all these, I guess. While I have been lucky enough to not have to get inspiration from pure survival instinct; there are those suffering from blood cancer, who are not so lucky. Some of them are probably at a stage where being able to extend the life by few years would make a world of difference.
That is why I am Racing to Save Lives.
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. I am raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
