How's training going?
For all the curious minds out there, it was a tough week. It started with snow and ended with rain. I slept in last Saturday and missed the first 4-mile loop in the snow. But, I made the second loop.
And despite setbacks of uneven and slippery terrain, I enjoyed the company of my teammates and stopped to snap a few pictures of the winter wonderland (on March 18).
This Saturday, I trailed after my teammates. I may have completed my barre challenge of 8 classesfor the month, but I have been avoiding running in the gloomy Michigan weather.
Despite a tough 11 miles in the rain, it was still 11 miles. Every mile and dollar gets us closer to our goals. Forty grand for cancer research and ready to run 26.2 miles to the finishline on May 27. Which means, I will keep smiling and miling.
Thank you for your support.
GO TEAM!
I am training for my fourth marathon with Team in Training. This will be my third Bayshore Marathon. Why do I keep coming back?
1. My team - I have met an amazing group of runners, coaches, and support staff with team in training. They encourage, support, and motivate me to be a better runner and person.
2. The distance - Anyone can run a half marathon (or at least walk it) in my humble opinion. A marathon is a stretch goal that takes months of preparation to tackle and a support team of cheerleaders who help one get to the finishline.
3. The cause - Most importantly, I run for those who cannot. As I have learned over my years with team in training, blood cancer research helps all who suffer from cancer. Over 40% of the approved cancer drugs since 2000 have been funded by blood cancer research.

This year I run in honor of my inspiring teammates. We are putting forth a true team effort to raise funds to support LLS initiatives. Have you heard of Moonshot 2020? Massive investments are being made by a collaboration of companies, individuals, and academia to conduct trials to push forward new treatments to combat cancer. This is an exciting time to be involved in cancer research and patient advocacy. Cancer touches everyone. The fight continues. Be part of the push.
Thank you for your support.

WELCOME TO MY TEAM IN TRAINING (TNT) HOME PAGE!
It takes more than one person to make up a team and that’s why I’m asking you to donate to my TNT fundraising page for TNT!
By participating as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) TNT, I am raising funds to help find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients.
Your donation will help fund treatments that save lives every day; like immnuotherapies that use a person’s own immune system to kill cancer. You may not know it, but every single donation helps save a life with breakthrough therapies such as these.
Patients need these cures and they need your support.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help get us all closer to a world without blood cancers.
Thank you!
