4/19/11 There is a fantabulous FUNdraiser coming up this Thursday at JD's Key Club in Pontiac. The antics of the dueling piano guys are always fun to watch, tickets are only $10 in advance or $15 at the door, and you'll help support a terrific cause! Call me for tickets 586-321-1869.
3/7/11 It is with a heavy heart that I dedicate my efforts in training and running the Mayor's Marathon to a dear friend, Matthew "Mamoosh" Sullivan, whom we lost to lymphoma on March 6th. He will be sorely missed.
Here I go again! This time I'll be running the Mayor's Marathon (that's 26.2 miles for you non-runners) in Anchorage, Alaska on June 18, 2011. It'll be my first visit to Alaska so I'm terribly excited. Not to mention being there for the summer solstice; 24 hours of daylight sounds wonderful during these cold winter months.
As you may know, I'm a Hodgkins lymphoma survivor (yeah, 2008 really sucked for me), so the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is an organization near and dear to my heart. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers, the survivors, and in memory of those we have lost. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. My goal for the Mayor's Marathon is to raise $5500, which will bring me to over $10,000 raised for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Even the smallest donation helps the cause; every single penny counts!
