Welcome to our team's Team In Training home page!

As new members of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program, Paul committed to running a marathon and Kristin has committed to running a half marathon to raise awareness of blood cancers, and to help raise funds for this worthy cause.

The LLS cause is near to both our hearts because I have a brother, Ryan, who was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 4. One in every 10,000 children is diagnosed with Leukemia, but in our small town of Conifer, Colorado, 5 children were diagnosed with this terrible disease. After a long, long battle and with the help of some truly fantastic doctors, Ryan went into remission and survived his battle with Leukemia.

In the meantime, every other one of the children in our area diagnosed with Leukemia passed away.

Paul's family was also touched by this disease; his grandfather struggled with it and his uncle Albert lost his battle with it.

I'm sure you can imagine the toll this takes on individuals and families together. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society embraces the North Star 2015 Vision, which describes a future in which LLS will have transformed the lives of people with blood cancer and the healthcare landscape that patients and their families and caregivers navigate. In 2015, patients, their families and caregivers will have the support they need to minimize physical and emotional suffering and to cope effectively throughout their cancer journeys.

Paul and I are running the Mayors Marathon and Half Marathon in Anchorage, Alaska in June in order to help raise money and awareness for this worthy cause. I am asking you today to donate as much as you can toward our fundraising goal of $10,000. Every dollar of your tax-deductible donation helps someone in need.
